When Your Heartstrings Break (ReportViewer Controls SP1 Redistributable)

For those of you who are incorporating the ReportViewer control in your WinForms or ASP.NET applications, I'm happy to announce the availability of a new ReportViewer redistiributable package. This package contains all of the fixes to the controls that were in Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 as well as a few that were discovered after SP1 was released.

Hey Brian,Great work on the ReportViewer controls they are totally easy to use and very, very flexible.  I only have one small problem that is a bit frustrating and was wondering if you or your team are aware of it.Basically I have a series of reports developed and deployed to our site www.crmll.com and everything works great except when a Mac user is accessing the site and attempting to export the rendered report to Excel (Mac Office 2004).  Basically the process invokes but never completes and I am wondering if there is a JavaScript interoperability issue within the ReportViewer control itself.  The interesting thing is that if the Mac user wants to export to PDF everything works great.  There is just something funny when trying to get to Excel.  Although we are a very small site I would others would enjoy a fix / correction to ensure interoperability. Thanks,Barry

We haven't really tested the renderer with Mac Office Excel. We generate Excel BIF format, which should generally be compatible but it hasn't been tested. I don't think it has anything to do with the script.
