Configure client computers for ICS

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To configure client computers for ICS

  1. Insert the Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition or Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer running Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows Millennium Edition.

  2. When the Welcome screen appears, click Perform additional tasks, and then click Browse this CD.

  3. Double-click Support, and then double-click Netsetup.

  4. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure.

  • Enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on your ICS host computer before you attempt to configure client computers for your home or small office network. For more information, see Related Topics.

  • You can run Netsetup.exe only on computers running Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows Millennium Edition.

  • Internet Connection Sharing and Network Bridge are not included in Windows Server 2003, Web Edition; Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition; and the Itanium-based versions of the original release of the Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
