Manage the Domain With a Different Domain Controller

To manage the domain with a different domain controller using Active Directory Administrative Center
- To open Active Directory Administrative Center, click Start , click Administrative Tools , and then click Active Directory Administrative Center .
Note
Another way to open Active Directory Administrative Center is to click Start , click Run , and then type dsac.exe .
To open Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows Server® 2012, click **Start** , type **dsac.exe** .
- In the navigation pane, right-click the domain that you want to manage with a different domain controller, and then click Change domain controller .

You can also right-click any navigation node that represents a container within the domain that you want to manage with a different domain controller, and then click Change domain controller . In other words, you can change a domain controller connection for any node in the navigation pane. However, changing a domain controller connection for any particular node that represents a container within a certain domain also changes that connection for all other nodes in the navigation pane that represent containers that belong to that same domain.
- Click Any writable domain controller or click Select a domain controller from the following list , and then select a domain controller in the list.
