Data Analytics Studio (DAS) on HDInsight Cluster

Dear All

I am following the recommendations here to install the Data Analytics Studio (from Cloudera):

https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/hdinsight/interactive-query/apache-hive-migrate-workloads

The custom script action is not working (at all) and after searching around for an hour and looking into the code, I think it will not work anymore. I am not sure, if at all, this is a free product. Is it?

This is the script that is not working on my cluster. I am also not able to install it manually (step-by-step) when logging into a headnode:
https://hdiconfigactions.blob.core.windows.net/dasinstaller/LaunchDASInstaller.sh

The software cannot be downloaded from the given URL ...

Does anybody have an idea if this should work? How can we make it work?

BR, Christoph

I heard back from my internal contacts. Going forward, DAS will not be officially supported by Microsoft. This means, it may be possible to install and use like many other open source softwares, but Microsoft does not maintain them or offer support for them.

Existing clusters which were missing built-in Tex and Hive views may still receive support, however it is highly recommended to move to the new version.

Support of DAS will not be provided for HDI version 4.0.2 or later

On another note, I took a look at the scrips line by line as you suggested. I visited the link in my browser. It returned a 403 forbidden. There are two possibilities for this, it requires authentication, or it only accepts connections via apt-get. So then I tried running line-by-line on a linux vm, and got the same 403 response. This means someone on the amazon side put up restrictions, and the script would not work anyway.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you better.
