I'm wondering if I'm creating Connection Monitor from Server A in Azure to Server B in onpremsis do the test automatically know all the hops between those two servers or do I need to somehow define the hops??

We are using hub and spoke model and all traffic is routed trough NVA's in Azure and then there are also firewalls at on premises and expressroute between..

    Hi,
As described here when you create connection monitor you define the source, the destination the test to be performed for the connection monitor. Nothing else needs to be defined as long as the destination and source have network connection between each other. I'm not sure what you mean by hops but if you have intermediate devices that forward the traffic in order to reach from source to destination you do not have to define those.
