I have recently sat the Azure Fundamentals exam. During it there were a few questions asked that took me by surprise as I don't recall seeing anything in the course material for it. For example, there was one question on SLA calculations - I honestly don't recall covering this in the material at all. I have definitely covered the Learning Pathways shown for Certification so I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. Are the Learning Pathways definitely correct?

Could you please share the Learning module URL that you're referring to? and just to clarify, are you referring to 'Knowledge check' questions in the module or actual Azure certification exam?

I completed the 3 learning paths shown but still felt that some questions I hadn't covered any material on.
@David Campbell , To better understand the ask -, you're referring to the actual questions appeared in the AZ-900 Exam, and confirming if all the topics are covered in the course material Azure Fundamentals Learning module (those 3 learning paths) pertaining to the exam? Yes that’s exactly it. My reason for asking is because I was asked questions I didn’t recognise from the pathway.

Learning paths are designed to help you prepare for all of the main areas covered in the exam, however the exam may have content not covered in the learning paths. The study guide listed on the exam page is the most comprehensive guide to what content will be on the exam.
