Notebooks in old account are visible but won't open

I am trying to access notebooks in an old microsoft account -- I'm successfully logged in to OneNote, see the notebooks I want to open, but when I do it reads, "this item may have been deleted, or expired, or you may not have permission...."

There's 9 notebooks--no way I deleted everything, and this was the only account that content was in, and I'm logged in and see them. Did they expire? How is that possible? And why would I be able to see them but not open.
