URL Rewrite Rules to allow subdirectory in the URL

Hello,

I am running IIS on a Windows 2019 server. I've installed ARR and rewrite tools. IIS has two websites running on it.

Site 1: The Default website bound to port 443. Additionally, I have a second website running .Net application, DataHubWeb, running on port 8090.

I'm trying to work out a set of URL rewrite/ARR rules that will perform the following:

Serve the public URL: https://sam.a.company.com/datahub. While the internal application is located at: https://localhost:8090.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A bit confused with your needs, did you mean: if visit URL: https://sam.a.company.com/, the website should turn to https://localhost:443. if visit URL: https://sam.a.company.com/datahub. the website turn to https://localhost:8090. To realize this function, we don't need ARR. URL rewrite will do it.

I am hosting a .NET web OTS application that resides at the root of its own IIS website (i.e.: localhost:8090). The port I use for this application is configurable.

The issue I'm having is that (due to requirements beyond my control) the company needs the URL to be: https://sam.a.company.com/datahub. In other words: not the root of the website.

So, I guess I'm asking for recommendations that will allow me to respond to a public URL, https://sam.a.company.com/datahub, with an application located at: localhost:8090.

With URL rewrite you cannot change the hostname (e.g. mydomain1.com cannot be rewritten to mydomain2.com).
You may change only the URI path (e.g. mydomain.com/path1 to mydomain.com/path2).

What you need is just to properly configure you IIS server.

Or you may create a new CNAME in your DNS records and play with it.
