ASR Replication error 539 and 310146

Question

We are trying to enable the replication for a VMware VM, it is failing with the below error codes. Troubleshooting guides is not helpful as it doesn't contain these error codes

Error ID539
Error MessageThe requested action couldn't be performed by the Replication Provider.
Possible causesThe Provider action failed. Check other errors for more information.
RecommendationResolve the issue and retry the operation.

Error ID310146
Error MessageThe operation to update the necessary tags failed on the machine 'MACHINENAME'.
Possible causesThe operation could not be completed due to failure of application of necessary tags.
RecommendationRetry the operation. If the problem persists, contact support.

I understand that you are trying to replicate VM from VMWare to Azure but its failing with errors 539 and 310146. Also, you tried uninstalling the agent, manually installed, reinstalled the appliance, used a new RSV, used a new VM to replicate, but it's giving the same error.

Uninstall the older version of the mobility service (Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall the ASR Mobility Service)
Reboot the server
Re-try the enable protection operation.
