Cannot add an additional mailbox to Outlook app

We are migrating from Exchange on-prem to M365. We noticed yesterday that with Outlook mobile app (I am using Android version 42247812) when I try to Add Mail Account, the only option we have is to Add Shared Mailbox.
When I try to just type in my personal hotmail email address I get the message: Authentication failed. That didn't work. You may not have the right permissions to add this mailbox or this mailbox doesn't exist.
Has anyone else experienced this? What is the resolution?
