I am looking for user to be able to send certain emails through an external SMTP server.

The idea would be when a user sends an email it sends normally. But if it includes "unsubscribe" it will relay through an external SMTP server.

I tried to explore doing this through a connector but I am having trouble with this. Am I going about this the right way or is there a different way to do this?

Yes so we are looking to setup a connector to route the mail from Office 365 though an external SMTP server to bypass the 10,000 per day limit of Office365 for when they need to send bulk emails.

As for the "unsubscribe", I mean I have sent up and transport rule for when an email has unsubscribe in the body to send the email through the connector

    Hi @CAD ,

Here is a detailed article for your reference: [https://lazyadmin.nl/office-365/smtp-relay-in-office-365/

As mentioned, you can’t SMTP Relay or Direct send for bulk emails. Microsoft applies reasonable limits to the connection and throttling to protect Microsoft 365 services.

(Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.)

Besides, it is not feasible to set transport rule for relaying messages.

Thank you. But I'm looking for an outbound connector from Exchange online to a partners SMTP server.
