Hello,

I would like to discuss a scenario for meeting invitation forward.

  1. I am John Doe and I receive a meeting invite from my colleague and meeting organizer Sam.
  2. I see that the meeting could be useful to my team and I forward the invite to my team members and include a message in the meeting forward setting the context about the meeting but also include some confidential information which is only meant for the team members who I am forwarding this invite to. This confidential information is not to be shared outside my team members who I am forwarding the invitation to, not even with the meeting organizer.
  3. Someone from my team opens the invite and doesn't find the Webex meeting link and replies to all from within the meeting invite. All the original invitees along with the ones I invited receive that email.
  4. Now when Sam adds the meeting link to the invite and sends an update to the attendees, the content of my email that was just sent to my team members also gets included somehow when the updates goes out to the attendees.
  5. This is what was not intended with the meeting forward and that confidential message and context that was added to the forwarded invite.

Can you please validate the behavior and let me know why did outlook do so or was it a mistake?

If this is how outlook behaves for real with the forwarded invite, this is a grave issue to be addressed as it lost the confidentiality of a big matter that became public in my organization.

For any further questions regarding the issue, please reach out to me and I will be happy to explain the scenario.
