Supposed I want to have a Fileshare in Azure being created, I will need a Storage Account..
According to [https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/training/modules/describe-azure-storage-services/2-accounts I would think I could choose either "Standard general-purpose v2" or "Premium file shares" .
When should I use the Standard general purpose and when should I use the Premium File shares type ?
Is the decision related to the question "If I need NFS, then I should choose Premium File Share - If I need SMB then I can choose Standard general-purpose" - if there is no geographical redundany required?

I dont really know how to rephrase my question, but i will try...
"Casestudy":
Lets assume there is the need to have a Fileshare being created in Azure.
Furthermore there are no geographical redundancies required.
For that I would need to create a new Storage Account.
From the tables presented at the learning path, I would not be sure if I should select the "Standard general-purpose v2" or "Premium file shares" option (because of no need to have georedundancy I could not detect a major difference in both options)....

Thanks for the follow-up and additional info. Yes, based on your case', you can select, standard for SMB and Premium for NFS.

Basically, Standard file shares offer locally-redundant (LRS), zone redundant (ZRS), geo-redundant (GRS), or geo-zone-redundant (GZRS) storage, however the large file share feature is only supported on locally redundant and zone redundant file shares. Premium file shares do not support any form of geo-redundancy.
Premium file shares are available with locally redundancy and zone redundancy in a subset of regions. To find out if premium file shares are currently available in your region.
Also the pricing needs to be considered for Standard and Premium FileShare storage.
