On a large scale, how do I fix the error: "Publishing Layout View is unavailable. Switching to Print Layout View" (Word for Mac)

I have several hundred documents created in MS Word 2011 using the Publishing view. Now I have MS Word version 16 and every time i try to open the older files I get the error: "Publishing Layout View is unavailable. Switching to Print Layout View.". I have re-saved the files in the new version of Word and I still get the error. The documents look fine, i just need to get rid of the error message.

I have seen the article below and doesn't help, since i don't have access to Office 2011 on a Mac running Monterey.

    If you are using a modern version of Word on the Mac, it no longer has Publishing Layout View.

    Note, this is not the place to get any changes made in Word nor the attention of developers at Microsoft. This is an independent user-to-user support forum. MS does not see anything you post here. The way to get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms.
