Powerpoint table: Widen a column without shrinking other columns?

I created a table in Powerpoint with variable width columns. I modified a cell in column 1 and would like to widen column 1. This shrinks all other columns, so I have to widen the entire table, then readjust all column widths. The widths were already carefully optimized. Every time I change an item in column 1 and want to adjust the width, I have to do the whole thing all over again.

Is there a way to widen a column without shrinking the widths of other columns? I would like behaviour like in Excel. In fact, I would prefer to create the table in Excel and copy/paste a PNG or EMF file, but Excel doesn't allow me to mix normal text and equations within the same cell.

    Hi @Frank Macintosh

Based on my tests, I suggest you choose one column that you need to widen, then go to Layout > Cell Size > Change the number of Width. This action will not change other columns' width.
