Azure recommend to replicate netapp between the region pair, for example, Australia central and Australia central 2. However, the virtual network resource type is not even available on Australia central 2 which prevents from creating any netapp volume there.

Error message:

@Liang Yang Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!

For understanding the issue better : Are you trying to Cross-region replication of Azure NetApp Files volumes or cross-zone replication of Azure NetApp Files (preview) ?

This error message is indicating that the location you have specified for the virtual network resource is not available for the resource type Microsoft.Network/virtualNetworks in the context of Azure NetApp Files replication. To resolve this issue, you can try specifying a different location that is available for the resource type Microsoft.Network/virtualNetworks in the context of Azure NetApp Files replication. You can find a list of available locations for this resource type in the Azure portal or by using the Azure CLI or Azure PowerShell.

This article describes common Azure NetApp Files Resource Provider errors, their causes, solutions, and workarounds (if available).

This article describes error messages and resolutions that can help you troubleshoot cross-region replication issues for Azure NetApp Files: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/azure-netapp-files/troubleshoot-cross-region-replication#errors-creating-replication

The Azure NetApp Files replication functionality provides data protection through cross-region volume replication. You can asynchronously replicate data from an Azure NetApp Files volume (source) in one region to another Azure NetApp Files volume (destination) in another region. This capability enables you to fail over your critical application if a region-wide outage or disaster happens.

Azure NetApp Files volume replication is supported between various Azure regional pairs and non-standard pairs. Azure NetApp Files volume replication is currently available between the following regions. You can replicate Azure NetApp Files volumes from Regional Pair A to Regional Pair B, and vice versa.

Option 2 If the resource type is available in your region, check if it's registered with your subscription. It can be done at the subscription owner level as shown in this article.

If the issue still persist, please let me know I would like to work closer on this issue
