Hi,

We have existing Azure redis cluster at redis 4 version at P2 plan with 2 shards, 13GB each.

We want to upgrade this to redis 6 version with same plan and same configuration.

Will there be any downtime during upgrade and if so then how much? We will have clients using the system during upgrade so we can't afford downtime or data loss.

Hi, @Deole, Pushkar (Pushkar) Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform, thanks for posting the question

There will be a momentary interruption where the client connections are reset, similar to the routine server maintenance events that happen several times each month. No downtime aside from that.

I hope this information helps, please let me know if you need have any additional questions.

    Regards

    Geetha

    Downtime is excessive.

For a C0 BASIC the downtime was 11 minutes. I tested this twice on two different REDIS instances.

Will this differ if there are different scaled versions such as Standard C0 ?
