In InTune, Why do MacOS computers show Encryption Readiness as Not Ready Even when FileVault is Enabled?

When I look at a list of computers from the Encryption report, computers running MacOS all show as having "Encryption Readiness" as "Not Ready". Given that this setting has to do with whether or not TPM is enabled or not, and the fact that MACs do not use TPM, what can we do to resolve this. FYI, MACs have a T2 chip which is effectively an improved version of TPM.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Have the devices been encrypted manually by a user before? Also we can only use Intune to configure FileVault on devices that run macOS 10.13 or later.

Devices can be identified as Not ready: The device doesn't have full encryption capabilities, but still supports encryption. For example, the device might be encrypted manually by a user rather than FileVault policy through Intune.

For more information, please refer to:

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
