how to track down source of kernelbase.dll error (event ID 1000)

Hi,

I have an app made in Windows App SDK. Lately however it seems to crash every 3-4 hours. I've tried to add logging everywhere but i have no clue how or why it crashes.

It crashes randomly and in the event viewer it throws the following error:

I suggest you could try to handle exceptions in an UnhandledException. For more details, I suggest you could refer to the Doc: Application.UnhandledException Event

In order to exclude environmental factors, I suggest you could try testing the app on another devices. Whether the same crash will occur?

Could you please tell us, what your app is used for?

hi,

I apologize for not answering earlier. I forgot about this question but my app is an internal use app. it works fine on most pc's except 3. these randomly crash with the exception that i gave above. I can't figure out the reason those 3 crash. Ive added try catches in every function i could find but it still seems to crash... the strangest thing is that it sometimes crashes while idle.

The randomly crash is so complex. Have you tried to use Application.UnhandledException Event? The UnhandledException event is used to notify the app about exceptions encountered by the XAML framework or by the Windows Runtime in general that have not been handled by app code.

we struggle with the same issue. We track all possible exceptions in our application, including Application.UnhandledException, AppDomain.UnhandledException, TaskScheduler.UnobservedTaskException but unfortunately these callbacks are never raised. All the time application crashes silently with exact event in Windows Event Viewer like @Mao Uyen Tram attached.

@Jeanine Zhang-MSFT could you please raise this issue above? Maybe you have advice how we can dive deeply into this locally? We really need to know what is going on. Great thanks.
