How can I create a policy to join MacOS devices in the on-prem AD server with Intune automatically?

We are in a situation where we want to enroll MacOS device in Intune and also to join our on-prem AD server. We have seen that there is a configuration policy for macOS in Settings catalog for the user authentication (directory services) but it doesn't work or at least we are doing it wrong.

    Based on my understanding, intune couldn't manage MacOS devices that are in the on-prem AD. Honestly, I'm not familiar with these settings catalog policy about user authentication (directory services).
