Hi Team, One of my server's CPU utilization is above 99%,Which i can track on task manager, which is constant 99% last 1hr, but when i go and check matrix dashboard. i can see only 22% utilization, so I can just want to understand about Realtime matrix of actual VM machine utilization. FS

    Hello Rohit Prajapati
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

You might be seeing discrepancy between the CPU utilization displayed in the task manager on the VM and the utilization displayed in the Azure portal, because there may be other processes or applications on the VM that are consuming CPU resources that are not being tracked by Azure.

Also, in Azure portal CPU utilization of the VM is shown as a whole, while the task manager shows the CPU utilization of individual processes running on the VM.

If you want to monitor the CPU utilization in real-time, you can use Azure Monitor. Azure Monitor provides real-time monitoring of your Azure resources. Note that the real-time monitoring option may incur additional costs, and you should check the pricing information before enabling it.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Rohit Prajapati

The CPU utilization percentage displayed in Task Manager is specific to the individual virtual machine that you are monitoring. However, the CPU utilization percentage displayed on the matrix dashboard is an aggregate value that represents the overall CPU utilization across all virtual machines.

It is possible that the difference in CPU utilization percentage between the two tools may be due to the time interval at which the data is being collected. Task Manager updates the CPU utilization percentage every second, whereas the matrix dashboard may update the value less frequently. Additionally, the matrix dashboard may be aggregating CPU utilization data over a longer period of time, such as 5 or 15 minutes, to provide a more accurate picture of overall CPU utilization.

It is also possible that the difference in CPU utilization percentage could be due to different methods of measurement or sampling techniques used by the two tools. Task Manager may be measuring CPU utilization using a different method than the matrix dashboard, leading to different results.

If you want to get a real-time view of the actual CPU utilization of your virtual machine, you can use third-party monitoring tools or performance counters that provide more detailed and accurate data. These tools can help you identify any performance bottlenecks or issues that may be impacting your virtual machine's performance.
