Company Portal (Intune) deletes/reinstalls managed apps periodically every hour

We have an issue in our Company Portal or Intune (I don't know what the difference is), that every hour or so, all managed apps (Teams, Office, Outlook etc.) are being uninstalled and installed again. This all also happens while working with these… Apps have been installed through Homebrew previously, but have been uninstalled completely with Homebrew before installing Company Portal. Registration happened without reinstalling macOS.

If you inside Intune have several distributions on the office package targeting the same device, I have seen this issue.

In one case, a Microsoft 365 Apps package was created that distributed the typical Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and another Microsoft 365 Apps package that installed only Visio. When these two distributions were targeted to a device, the office applications were installed/uninstalled all the time. Just like you describe.

    Please check your management systems:

Company Portal is a self-service engine for Intune management. I bet you should investigate your detection methods correctly. If M365 Apps is done with built-in way, it is more trickier, it should usually work. With built-in M365 App you can't alter detection methods, but I know in some cases admins have done manual M365 installation package with Win32 app style and there you have all the control.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1, Are the Office Suite assigned as Required applications? If yes, you could stop assigning the applications as Required to have a try.

2,You can try to completely remove Microsoft 365 Apps and reinstall it to have a try.

    3,Turn off auto update.
