Hi,

I am new to SCCM.

Consultant sets up the Maintenance Window for "All Servers" to Last Saturday between 1:00am and 5:00am but he sets up 2 Update Group - Pilot and Prod Servers.

With this setting, does it mean that Servers in both groups will be patched only on Last Saturday between 1:00am and 5:00am ?

Thanks

    Hi @TonyJK ,

Actually yes, if we apply this schedule to all deployments or software update in the following screenshot, servers in both groups could be installed the patch in the period of maintenance window.

Here is the article about maintenance window:

Beside, if we check the option of software update installation in the following screenshot, the installation would be performed outside the maintenance window.

    Hi @TonyJK ,

    Thanks for your feedback.

--> If two tabs of following screenshot is unchecked, the update could be installed on next Friday between 1:00am and 5:00am in the next Maintenance Window. It means that the update is installed and the client is restarted only between Maintenance Window.

-->If the tab of software update installation is checked, the update could be installed as soon as the deadline reached(as mentioned Saturday 1:00am), and the client will be restarted between Maintenance Window which we could modify. As we mentioned, some update must be restarted after being installed, so the Restarting of Server could not be suppressed, just modified.

-->If the tab of system restart (if necessary), the update could be installed on next Friday between 1:00am and 5:00am in the next Maintenance Window, the client could be restarted once the update installed.
