Microsoft Reporting Services Projects causes delays and hangs

Getting this error frequently and VS often just hangs and I need to reboot. Using VS 2017. Is this a known issue with MRSP VSIX 2.6.11?

Is there an update/fix? What are the ramifications if I disable the extension as the error message suggests?

    Hi @Dom, 

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A! 

    You can temporarily disable the extension, which will stop using relevant features of Reporting Services projects.

    Or you try to uninstall and reinstall the extension. 

    Besides, I likely recommend you install and use VS2022 where you can use the newer version of Microsoft Reporting Services Projects.
