I'm trying to move a VM from East US 2 to East US. After I select the regions the system tells me 1 resource(s) have been removed from your original selection as they cannot move to the destination. If I click on View the list of resources it shows my VM. The reason for removal says " Already added for move". If I click the reason to take me to the move, the resources are blank. It doesn't seem to exist in a move.

I had initially started a move but had to create additional resources like subnet, etc. so I removed the VM from the move, but now when I try to go through the process again it says it's already added, but nothing is showing up in the move. The system shows it is in East US 2 so it hasn't moved to East US, but I'm not sure where else to look for the existing move.

I've stopped and started the VM to see if it was "stuck" in some funky state but that didn't do anything. Any ideas where else to look for the move or to restart the process?

@Dennis Hill Welcome to Microsoft Q & A Community Forum. Can you please try removing them from move collection and retry the move operation between the regions ?

That's part of my issue, when I look at the resource mover there isn't any resources there. The dashboard there also has 0 resources.

@Dennis Hill Moving a resource is a complex operation that has different phases. It can involve more than just the resource provider of the resource you're trying to move. Because of the dependencies between resource providers, Azure Resource Manager allows 4 hours for the operation to complete. This time period gives resource providers a chance to recover from transient issues. If your move request is within the four-hour period, the operation keeps trying to complete and may still succeed. The source and destination resource groups are locked during this time to avoid consistency issues.

If you are still facing the issue even after 4 hours, I would suggest you raise support ticket with Azure Technical Team to analyze the issue and provide you with appropriate solution.

I am having this challenge. I can't move my Azure Web app. It keeps unselecting the webapp and pops this error: 1 resource(s) have been removed from your original selection as they cannot move to the destination.

I am facing the same issue. I have an express app deployed via App Service extension from visual studio code. It deployed to Central US (by default may be). I want to move to SouthEast Asia now. getting following error in 2 Resources to move step.
