How to find Alphanumeric sender ID in Azure Communication Services

Hi,

I am trying to send SMS to Denmark International number and for that I have enabled Alphanumeric sender id in my account, and I wanted to send SMS using that ID.

I could not find any helper document for sending SMS from sender id to Denmark recipient number.

Please help here.

Actually, I was looking for how to find Alphanumeric Sender ID.

I have enabled Alphanumeric Sender ID, but I am not getting what to find that ID.

@Sangeetha Priya S Thanks for your follow-up questions.

When you enable Alphanumeric Sender ID for your ACS resource, then your ACS resource is allowed to send the SMS through that Alphanumeric SenderID.

You need to create your own Alpha Numeric Sender ID and it should formatted with the below criteria.

Must contain at least one letter

Upto 11 characters

Characters can include

Upper case letters: A - Z

Lower case letters: a - z

Numbers: 0-9

Spaces

Special characters: + , - , _ , &

Once you have created the alpha numeric sender ID by meeting the above criteria, then you can use the same code mentioned in the documentation here.

Also, using Alphanumeric Sender ID's currently you can send SMS to the below countries.

I have been encountering a very similar issue to the original poster of this question but the solution provided does not seem to fix the issue. I have enabled Dynamic Alphanumeric Sender ID on my Azure Communication Resource but how do I find the value of my Sender ID?

One of the comments above mentions that we need to create the ID, How? Where? The docs on this seem to either be lacking or I have managed to miss where its mentioned. There is plenty of information on how to enable Alphanumeric Sender IDs but then it just seems to stop.

I know the format that the sender ID should be in, but where do I create it?

You can refer to the sample example mentioned in the documentation, on how to send 1:1 message using C# and using alphanumeric sender.

Note: You need to use your alphanumeric sender number in the from-phone-number value in the above screenshot.

Sam Byford As mentioned earlier, when you enable Alphanumeric Sender ID on your ACS it means that you are allowed to send messages using that. By default, Azure doesnt provide any Alphanumeric sender ID you need to create it and make sure that ID should met these formatting guidelines.
Also, one you have enabled refer to this document to send an 1:1 SMS message using alphanumerice sender id.

If you feel that documentation, need to be updated I would suggest you submit your feedback using the below option at the bottom of the page.

Ok yes I understand I need to create it, but where? Does it just get created when I enter a value in the "from" field of the Send() method?

Sam Byford you need to pass the AlphanumericSenderId in the From field under SmsSendResult

SmsSendResult sendResult = smsClient.Send( from: "<from-phone-number>", to: "<to-phone-number>", message: "Hello World via SMS" );

So it does not get created anywhere before? That field is where it gets "initialised" and "created"?

Im also confused here, I enbaled Dynamic Alphanumeric Sender ID, I should not have to create a Alphanumeric Sender ID after this. I'm using Dynamic, seems like documentation is lacking.
