Hi Team,

I have set up the exchange server 2019 on the virtual machine that is integrated with the active directory and attached the domain suppose abc.com. I have created some users with this domain such as john@abc.com and ram@abc.com in the active directory. These users are successfully getting authenticated in the exchange server. Now I want to set up multiple domains for the same exchange server. I also configured domains eg xyz.com or efg.com but the issue is when I create users with these domains like john@xyz.com or ram@efg.com, they are getting authenticated in the exchange server. I want to know about the solution like how I configured multiple domains for a single exchange server in 2019 and how can I authenticate with all the domains in a single exchange server. Should I have to create or separate servers or active directories for the single exchange server or I can use the single server(Virtual Machine) with multiple domains in the exchange server? please provide me with a brief solution and try to help me out with this solution as soon as possible. Please reply in the comments as soon as possible.

Should I have to create or separate servers or active directories for the single exchange server or I can use the single server(Virtual Machine) with multiple domains in the exchange server?

If your requirement is to have users sending emails with different domain suffix, you can use a single Exchange server and add these domains as accepted domains in Exchange Admin Center, then create and apply email address polices to these users.

Below is an example with the general steps.

    Scenario:

    • The Active Directory domain is domain1.com, by default mailboxes created in Exchange have domain1.com as domain suffix
    • I want to add xyz.com as an additional email domain and have some mailboxes have xyz.com as domain suffix

1.In Exchange Admin Center, create an accepted domain named xyz.com

    01

    2.create an email address policy02

    select xyz.com as accepted domain

    03

click save and back to the former page, in below settings click "add a rule" to custom which users the policy would be applied to (in this example the rule is applied to the users in the "xyz.com" organization unit in Active Directory)

    03

    in xyz.com OU:

    04

3.Once the policy is created, click "apply" to apply the policy to the users (in this case apply to user03)

    05

You can see user03's email address changed from user03@domain1.com to user03@xyz.com.

    Before:

    06

    After:

    07

Hi KaelThank you for your support. It is working fine. But still, there is an issue that I can't login with the user (appended with new domain user03xyz.com ) in the Exchange Outlook mailbox. The scenario which is going on right now is that I am able to login only with the user with the root domain(user03@domain1.com) but after login when I am sending a new mail, the user through which I send an email is the new user with the new domain(user03xyz.com). So basically I can only login with the root domain user and when I send the emails it is the new user with the new domain. Please help me out so that I can also login with a user (with the new domain) through which I am sending emails. Please find the attached pictures for reference.

    For reference:

Your root domain = my root domain [ (user03@domain1.com=kanavsharmaa@cloudops-ticket.tk) ]

    Your new domain = my new domain [ (user03xyz.com = kanavsharmaa@xyz.tk) ]

kanavsharmaa@xyz1.png.png (This is the new domain user)

loginuser.png This is the root user .

kanavsharmaa@xyz.png.png this is the new user with new domain which i get after login in with the root domain.
