Bonjour,

When you upgrade from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022, your existing license will be honored. This means that you will not need to purchase a new license for Windows Server 2022. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Your existing license must be an eligible type of license. For example, you cannot use an OEM license to upgrade to Windows Server 2022.
Your existing license must be for the same edition of Windows Server. For example, you cannot use a Windows Server 2016 Standard license to upgrade to Windows Server 2022 Datacenter.
You must have the appropriate software assurance coverage for your existing license. Software assurance is a subscription service that provides you with access to new features and updates for your software. If you do not have software assurance coverage, you may not be able to upgrade to Windows Server 2022.
If you are unsure whether your license is eligible for upgrade, you can contact Microsoft licensing support.
Here are some additional details about the upgrade process:
You can upgrade from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022 using the in-place upgrade process. This process is simple and straightforward, and it allows you to keep your existing data and settings.
You can also perform a clean installation of Windows Server 2022. This process will erase all data and settings from your server, so it is important to back up your data before you proceed.
