Is it possible to determine the device status(e.g. "In storage", "For Repair", "For Decommision") using Intune/Azure? If so, how will I do it and group or categorize those device based on their status? thank you for answering.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Per my experience, yes, it is possible to determine the status of a device using Intune and Azure. However, there is no built-in feature for device status of Intune, so you would need to manually assign device status using Intune. Once you have assigned a status to a device, you can group or categorize your devices based on their status using device groups in Intune

1,To assign a status to a device in Intune, you can create a custom device category and then set the value of that category based on the device status.

Refer to: Categorize devices into groups

2,Then you can create a dynamic group using attribute-based rules in Azure AD to enable automatic grouping. Create an advanced rule for your group using the deviceCategory attribute and the category name you created in Step 1.

Refer to: Dynamic membership rules for groups in Azure Active Directory

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
