Hello. We have an Azuke kinect DK set up and we have problems with the power input.
Sometimes there is a power blackout and when power comes back the PC starts but the kinect azure device must be plugged out and plugged in again to work.
We've tried different power bricks and and also plugging the power in the USB port of the pc. Plugging the power in the PC does not work at all and most power bricks don't work at all too.
The device seems to be very sensitive to power, is there anything we could do to solve the issue?

Hi @OMNIVIR sofware Greetings! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. Thank you for posting this question here.

Here are few debugging steps that will help you in diagnosing this issue.

    • Check the status LED behind the device, if it's blinking amber you have USB connectivity issue and it doesn't get enough power. The power supply cable should be plugged into the provided power adapter. While the power cable has a USB type A connected, the device requires more power than a PC USB port can supply. So, don't connect to it to a PC port or USB hub.

Check your cable, damaged or lower quality cables may cause unreliable enumeration (device keeps "blinking" in device manager).

    • If you have connected to laptop and running on battery, it may be throttling the power to the port. Check if the battery levels of the host PC are too low which might be preventing power through put to the Kinect DK.
    • See if there are any updates that need to be performed on the device. Follow the below steps to confirm this
    • Go to the Device Manager on your Windows 11 machine by typing "Device Manager" in the search box on the taskbar.
    • Locate the Azure Kinect sensor under the "Audio inputs and outputs" or "Cameras" section.
    • Right-click on the Kinect sensor and select "Update driver."
    • Choose the option to "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Check the power settings: Check the power settings of your device to make sure that it is configured to restart automatically after a power outage. You can do this by going to the Device Manager in Windows, selecting the Kinect sensor, and then going to the Power Management tab. Make sure that the "Allow this device to wake the computer" option is checked.

If none of the above mentioned steps work, please reach log a request to Azure Kinect DK device support for additional assistance.
