Can I delete On My Computer emails in Legacy Outlook after importing them in New Outlook on Mac?

Importing On My Computer emails from Legacy Outlook to New Outlook has been completed, but it has squeezed my disk severely. Can I delete those emails in Legacy Outlook only with retaining them in New Outlook so that I can free up the disk space? I am using Outlook for Mac ver. 16.74.2 (Microsoft 365 subscription).

As i know, the two function ("On my computer" folder and "Import") you mentioned is not supported in New Outlook for Mac. More information: The new Outlook for Mac.

If you want to reduce the file size of your Outlook, i'm afraid that you need to export items to an archive file in Outlook for Mac to reduce the size of your mailbox. More information: Export items to an archive file in Outlook for Mac.

Hi, "On My Computer" folder is already available in my Outlook for Mac, and I could import the ones in Legacy Outlook to New Outlook just recently. However, it seems it caused the duplication of the same local emails and I wanted to make sure the ones in New Outlook can be retained even deleting the ones in Legacy.

Yes, I could.

I have tested to delete emails in Legacy Outlook and found that those emails are still retained in New Outlook so far. I can't guarantee, but it seems my concern has gone with the test.

If you can import files in New Outlook for Mac, your actions in the old Outlook version will not affect the configuration in New Outlook.

Hi @KOUSUKE TSUTSUMI , just read your comments... have the same problem. Data amount is doubled and crashes my MAC... you write, that you delete local files in the old version. Did you delete this on the harddrive/ssd directly in the folders OR did you set outlook into the old version. Can you switch easy between legacy and new version? Thanks for help...

Hi, I switched to Legacy and deleted emails and folders in Legacy. It is not difficult: you just switched off "New Outlook" in the menu bar. By the way, I have found that the local emails in New Outlook can't be exported so I will not be able to move them to new Mac or PC unless it is fixed.

Hi, thanks for your reply!!! I just tried it by myself an in fact I can switch between the versions and delelte folders in the old version. Than I can see on my harddisk that free space increases... crazy thing :-)

Hi @KOUSUKE TSUTSUMI again... I have one more question... I recognized, that in the new OMC files I can not delete attachments (to reduce space requirements). Did you have the same "problem"?
