I have a client that has M365 Business Standard subscription as he requires Teams, desktop applications, etc. and also purchased Exchange Online Plan 2 because he needs a bigger mailbox size (Exchange Online Plan 2 offers 100GB verses 50 GB from Business Standard). He wants to know if it is possible to use both subscriptions at the same time but use 100GB mailbox from Exchange Online Plan 2 while using other services from the Business Standard subscription?

Hi yes, you can mix the plans. You need to turn off Exchange Online Plan 1 in the in the user's Licenses and Apps section (displayed below). Expand Apps, and uncheck Exchange Online (Plan 1). Since you're paying for and applying both business basic and EXO plan 2, is it additive? Do you get 150GB of email?

Also, within the individual plans, for example EXO plan 2, is it 100GB of email and 100GB of archive? Or you do both of those share the 100GB?

Unfortunately, the quota of exchange online P1 and P2 do not combine, so end up will get 100GB.

Michael, just to be clear - my user has "Microsoft 365 Business Standard". Can I simply add the "Exchange Online (Plan 2)" license to gain the extra storage without losing the benefits of the Standard License? You mentioned turning off "Exchange (Plan 1)" but this license is not in play for me. Thanks!
