I am new to SCVMM and cannot find a suitable answer to this question.

I have created a new host group and would like to allow clouds and logical networks access. Is this as simple as going into the Logical networks section and selecting the host group as an addition?

For cloud is it the same action just enable the group in the cloud?

There are currently multiple configuration for other host groups and I want to make sure I don't impact them.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

    Hi,

Yes, you can allow clouds and logical networks access to a new host group by adding the host group to the logical networks and clouds.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. In the VMM console, go to Hosts and Clusters > Host Groups.
    2. Right-click the new host group and select Properties.
    3. In the Logical Networks section, select the logical networks that you want to allow the host group to access.
    4. In the Clouds section, select the clouds that you want to allow the host group to access.
    5. Click OK.

This will allow the new host group to access the selected logical networks and clouds. It will not impact the configuration of other host groups.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

    • You can only add a host group to a logical network or cloud if the logical network or cloud is compatible with the host group's hardware.
    • If you add a host group to a cloud, you must also assign resources to the host group in the cloud.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
