On my MacBookpro 2017, running Catalina 10.15.7 ,the Save and Save as commands work, but not on my iMac (Late 2014) running the same operating system and version of Word; the options are greyed out. Changing to an earier version of Word doesn't help.

    Hi @Paul Calder ,

    Word for Mac is currently not supported in the Q&A forums, the supported products are listed over here https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/answers/products (more to be added later on).

    You can ask the experts in the dedicated Word for Mac forum over here:

    @Paul Calder

    > the options are greyed out

    << Do you mean the ‘Save’ and ‘Save as’ options in File?

    Could you please tell me what version of Office you are using?

    Please check:

    • Whether the icon on the top of Word (screenshot like below) is gray.
      34284-1111111111.png
    • Press COMMAND + Shift + S to see if it can save the document.

    If it doesn’t work, maybe you are working with documents saved in old file formats. If you see "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar of the document window, you are working in the old format.
    When working in the old format, commands that may introduce incompatible content are disabled.
    In this case, you need to update a file to the current format to turn on all the disabled features. File > Convert Document to update an old (.doc) format file.

    Maybe you could try to uninstall the Office completely and then reinstall it.

    Any updates, please let me know.

    Regards,
    Erin
