Is AirSync a protocol in its own or just an (obsolete) name for Exchange ActiveSync?

Hello,

I keep reading about "AirSync" in 3rd party e-mail clients.
Some even claim it isn't a different name for ActiveSync but as a completely different protocol.

As far as I know, AirSync is identical to Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) because it was simply renamed after version 1.0.

Now what is correct?

Thanks and greetings,
Martin

    Hi @Martin Fessler

After reviewing the Exchange ActiveSync history, I think Air Sync was developed before Exchange ActiveSync, you can understand that Air Sync is the predecessor of Exchange ActiveSync.

So, you are right, these are two different versions of the same protocol.

    refer to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_ActiveSync
