Hi.
I have a number of critical workstations that can not be auto rebooted during Windows Update for Business patching.
This are critical workstations and are active 24/7. It is therefore not a specific time when the reboot can be scheduled.
The users will reboot the workstations when they have the possibility.
Good old WSUS :) had this feature, however i have not been able to find this in WUFB.
Can anyone help?

I'm not sure the "auto-download updates then let users reboot whenever they want" scenario can be achieved with WUfB.
Two workarounds could be close to what you'd like to do :
- Select the "notify download" setting in the "Automatic update behavior" of your update ring policy
=> This will let users start download of the available updates manually. Could be followed by a manual reboot afterwards.
- Select the "auto install at maintenance time" setting in the "Automatic update behavior" of your update ring policy, then provide active hours start and end values to get the largest maintenance window possible.
=> Reboots are suppressed during maintenance window, and if a restart is required, users are prompted for 7 days to perform the reboot but after that deadline, the device will still automatically restart.

@Yngve Solhaug, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my researching, I didn't find the policy to disable auto-reboot. But I find the settings to delay automatic reboot and schedule auto-restart warnings in the following link:
