Room mailbox calendar- Cancellations not working

Dear Team

We've a Room mailbox calendar. When user sends meeting request, it accepts immediately. when user sends cancellation, it shows in the message tracking that the cancellation was accepted by the room mailbox, but a confirmation of cancellation was never sent. And neither the invite was removed from the calendar.

The user however sent 4 to 5 cancellations, but in message tracking it shows only one of them. Meaning, neither the cancellation was accepted, nor the meetings were removed from the calendar.

When the user tries to send another couple of meetings for the same times (hoping that the cancellation was done on the calendar), she receives a "decline" message from the calendar stating the meeting rooms are already booked by her for the respective times (however she sent a 4 to 5 cancellation before).

So not sure what is going wrong. Pleas assist.

Thanks

Abi.

***[Room mailbox calendar- Cancellations not working] ***

    ** issue symptom: **

When user sends meeting request, it accepts immediately. when user sends cancellation, it shows in the message tracking that the cancellation was accepted by the room mailbox, but a confirmation of cancellation was never sent. And neither the invite was removed from the calendar.

    **Resolution: **

It is the switch "removecanceledmeetings" in the "Set-Calendarprocessing" command.

    Hi Abi,

If you're referring to room mailbox calendars, then this is expected behavior. Administrators can set parameters so that canceled meetings are deleted from resource calendars when they are canceled.

    Hi @Abi,

Please use the following shell command in your environment to check whether the value of this parameter(-RemoveOldMeetingMessages) is "TRUE".

    Shell command: get-CalendarProcessing room2 | fl *

    Hello All

Thanks all for your reply. I found the solution. It is the switch "removecanceledmeetings" in the "Set-Calendarprocessing" command. We've Exchange online environment and this switch worked like a charm.

Offcourse it will not remove the older entries, but I guess then the "removeoldmeetingmessages' might do the trick. I did not use "removeoldmeetingmessages" on purpose as we might need some historical data going forward.
