External HD recognized in one computer and not in another.

I have a Western Digital HDD that was used as an Internal HD installed at the factory in a computer we bought, when I exchanged this HD for an SSD it became unusable, so I purchased the case to use it as an external one.

This HD would be used as a backup on the corporate server: DELL EMC Poweredge T150 / Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard / Intel Xeon E-2324G. It was working perfectly, but after a day restarting the server, this HD stopped working, not being recognized even when I put it in.

It's working perfectly on my computer - Windows 10 - and is listed as healthy in CrystalDiskInfo.

I have already tried all the methods presented on YouTube, but I suspect that the problem is in the BIOS, since when restarting, it presented this initialization error, and when disconnecting the HD from the server to connect it again, it turned on normally and the HD stopped work.

Note: I have already tested other HDS and storage devices and none of them are being recognized by the server or by the Disk manager (of this server).

    Hi,

If none of your external hard disks can be recognized in Disk Management, it is likely a hardware problem. See if the issue persists when you use other USB ports like the rear ones. Check the xHCI controller settings in the BIOS. Anyway, I think you'd better contact the server manufacturer.

    Best Regards,
