so ive come across others with a similar problem. the disk drive shows in device management but not in folders.this is where mine differs. it shows in bios, device management, and even in my desktop hardware properties. i have even uninstalled the drive/ restarted the pc, and checked for updates. how can i make it so i can use my hard drive?

Try to create partitions and see if that helps
Right-click "This PC" and choose "Manage" > "Disk Management."
Right-click the unallocated space and choose "New Simple Volume."
In New Simple Volume Wizard, click "Next" to continue.
Follow the wizard to specify the volume size, assign a drive letter to the volume, and then format the partition.

I switched between hard drives to see if the issue was the hard drive. Everything is connected properly and in the device management>properties it shows to be working fine. Thats the only hardware change. as fare as software installation, no.
There is no 3rd party anti-virus or protection. I use the built in anti-virus as this is the omen 15.6 in gaming labtop.
microsoft is not letting the caputre i added load but it shows device delted, device configured, and device started. i cannot see the disk to make partitions.

What if that option is unavailable to be selected? Mines only gives me the option to convert to Dynamic Disk or MBR. What do those options do?
Are there any other alternatives to being able to see the hard drive pop up to be selected? Everything says the drive is working and healthy, yet I can't access it.
