@RatnaTejasri Abbina Thank you for reaching out to us. Happy to help!

Azure Backup can be used to protect the Azure Site Recovery (ASR) Configuration Server by backing up the virtual machine that is running the Configuration Server. This can be useful in case of accidental deletion or corruption of the Configuration Server, as it allows you to restore the Configuration Server to a previous state.

To use Azure Backup to protect the ASR Configuration Server, you can follow these steps:

    1. In the Azure portal, go to the "Recovery Services vault" that you are using for Azure Site Recovery.

In the left-hand menu, click on "Backup", and then click on "Azure VM".

In the "Backup" blade, select the virtual machine that is running the ASR Configuration Server, and then click on "Backup now".

In the "Backup now" blade, you can configure the backup settings, such as the backup frequency and retention policy.

After you have configured the backup settings, click on "Enable backup" to start the backup process.

Once the backup process is complete, you can restore the ASR Configuration Server to a previous state by following these steps:

    1. In the Azure portal, go to the "Recovery Services vault" that you are using for Azure Site Recovery.

In the left-hand menu, click on "Backup", and then click on "Azure VM".

In the "Backup" blade, select the virtual machine that is running the ASR Configuration Server, and then click on "Restore VM".

In the "Restore VM" blade, you can select the recovery point that you want to restore from, and then configure the restore settings.

After you have configured the restore settings, click on "Restore" to start the restore process.

It's important to note that Azure Backup is not a replacement for Azure Site Recovery, and should be used in conjunction with ASR to provide a comprehensive disaster recovery solution.

    Hope this helps!
