Configuring a central DHCP server

Hello.

I want to set up a central DHCP server for different locations. Currently, each location has its own DHCP server. For security, there is to be a second server in another location and both tied together by Failover. Just setting up the server and basic configuration is not a problem, but... Each location has its own pool of addresses and this is where the questions arise:

  1. how to force the central DHCP server so that computers from a specific location receive IPs from a given scope? Is the only method to set Policies MAC Address for each address scope? And if so, is it possible to collectively add (load from a file) clients' MAC addresses to Policies? Manually entering MAC addresses as there are about 300 computers in one location is a bit pointless.
  2. on what ports the traffic must be let go, so that the computers in the locations get an IP

    Hi @pio gru

For this question , you should create and. configure multiple DHCP pools on the DHCP server and assign a DHCP pool to each VLAN. To get more details , please read the following link : Configure DHCP Server for multiple VLANs on the Switch

    1. on what ports the traffic must be let go, so that the computers in the locations get an IP

    Regarding IPv4 :
DHCP uses UDP port 67 on the server side and UDP port 68 on the client side.
    Regarding IPv6 :
DHCP uses UDP port 546 on the client side and UDP 547 on the server side.
