I have a project that deals with assessing the security features of digital medical devices. My question is, does Azure IoT have a feature that supports testing of medical IoT device security features?

welcome to the moderated Azure community forum.

Azure IoT Central is the SaaS solution based on Azure IoT PaaS.

You are probably interested in device security features covered by Microsoft Defender for IoT.

Defender for IoT now offers security for OT environments via the cloud, across all your OT devices and all sites.

Check the documentation for more details.

Notice there are two solutions:

Agent-based (great for edge solutions, checking the local OS and ports and network connections, etc.)

Agent-less (trying to discover the whole network and possible threats)

I'm not sure what you mean by testing. These tools check the actual security of your machines.

Thank you for the reply, but I wanted to explore the inbuilt security feature of the IoT device itself on the platform, which I think is not incorporated with the emulated devices.

As Sander mentioned, Azure IoT provides a range of services and tools that can help you secure your IoT devices, including medical IoT devices. However, it is important to note that security is a shared responsibility between the device manufacturer and the device owner.

To assess the security features of your medical IoT devices, you can use Azure IoT Hub to securely connect your devices to the cloud and monitor their telemetry data. You can also use Azure IoT Central to build custom dashboards and visualize the data from your devices.
