Microsoft Custom Translator supported languages

Dear all,

May I ask you why the "Custom Translator language pairs" table here https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/translator/language-support (to the bottom of the page) is missing some languages that are instead flagged as "supported" by Azure Custom Translator in the above "Translation" table? For instance, I am thinking of Chinese (Traditional) and Bulgarian.

Plus, what about language variants? Is it only English (United States) supported as a source or target language? What if I am translating from any source language into English? Will it always be English (US)? And the same question's about Portuguese. As far as I can understand, only Portuguese (Brazil) is supported by Azure Custom Translator, whereas both PT variants (Portuguese-Portugal and Portuguese-Brazil) are available with Microsoft Stock. Is that correct?

Last but not least, I was about to create a new project on my Azure Custom Translator console with Italian as a source language. I thought that English would be the only language available as a target language, but I actually noticed that I could select French and German as well. Is that correct? Is Italian into French/German supported by Azure Custom Translator?

Thank you!
Arianna

Hello @Arianna Mercuriali , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

In the documentation the different source language other than English is also listed for the language pairs please check. Also, German and French as source language is supported; https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/translator/language-support#custom-translator-language-pairs

I agree with the few custom translator languages supported or not in the language pairs. As per the documentation these are the available language pairs we have at this moment.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vasavi
