Hello,
I have not a problem to locate a content of the file in particular directory, but I need to locate the file itself. Sure, I could do it from terminal, but I'd like to locate it from Workspace.
E.g. I am looking for foo.c and know the folder where it's located or another option when I don't know the folder.
What is the easiest way to do this?

You can use File -> Open File ...
In the dialogue box, start typing the name of the file you're looking for. As you type, Azure Data Studio will provide suggestions based on your input.

I am using ADS on Mac.
When I do: File - Open ... it opens Mac Finder where I could search.
I want to look using ADS and from inside of it.
This option File - Open is simply search in Finder

I think that I figured out how one could locate the file itself and the content of the file usings ADS.
If I am looking for file itself ... I have to go to folder where it might be located (the lower folder is located in tree is better), right click and select 'Reveal in File Explorer'. It worked for me very fast (I don't think that in my case location is indexed ... but it was quit fast)
In case I need the content of that file ... I again right click the folder and select 'Find in Folder'.
I'm happy with it and it solved my issue.
Do you have better alternative?

Hi Susja - the solution you've described is a good option. If you have added the folder that contains the file to a workspace in Azure Data Studio, then if you expand the folder, you can do Ctrl/Cmd + F to open the Find dialog, and you can then type the file name (or some text of it) and it will highlight that text in the list of files. But you have to have the folder expanded to find the file. If you are searching a file that's nested within one or more sub-folders, it's likely faster to use the solution you found, using File Explorer.

The one thing that still does not work for me is to search for file name on Mac. When I am on Windows 'Reveal in File Explorer' works perfect. But I also use ADS on Mac and instead of this option it has 'Finder' and it doesn’t work for me.
Do you have a clue?

Susja I am not a Mac user, so can you elaborate on where you are seeing 'Finder'? Is that within Azure Data Studio, or is that in macOS?
Sure, On Mac 'Find in Folder' is the same and work with no issue.
On Windows I have 'Reveal in File Explorer' (see attachment)
On Mac I have 'Reveal in Finder'
When I click on 'Reveal in Finder' it starts Mac 'Finder' window and I try to search file.
Well, this type of search does not work for me. Actually, it does not look like ADS but rather MAC search issue. I will look into it more.
