File name of Print job gets changed by RDP

Hello everyone

I have a problem that I hope some of you can help me with.

I have a remote application that I have access to via the remote desktop.

Now I have seen that when I print something via the remote application, the name of the file is changed. e.g.: The file is a .docx with the name WordXY, when I print it I can see that the files are sent to the print server with the name Remote Desktop-forwardXY.

Is there any way to keep the original file name?

    When you print a file from a remote application using Remote Desktop, the file name is changed to "Remote Desktop-forwardXY" because the print job is being sent from the remote desktop session to the local printer on your computer. This is a default behavior of Remote Desktop and cannot be changed.

    Another option is to save the file locally on your computer and then print it from there. This will allow you to use the original file name when printing the file. To do this, you have to copy the file from the remote desktop session to your local computer using the clipboard or a file transfer tool, and then print the file from your local computer.

    Keep in mind that the ability to save files locally and transfer them between the remote desktop session and your local computer may be restricted by your organization's security policies. Be sure to check with your IT department before using this method.

    You could also check third-party printing tools like ThinPrint Client, which allows to customize the print job settings, including the file name.
