I have 2 Windows 2016 servers.
One is AD DC and other is standalone one.
Also there are some Windows 7 clients.

Network discovery is tuned on as services: Dns client, Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Discovery, UPnP Device Host, Function Discovery Provider Host are started up.

Time to time Windows 2016 are disappeared from neighborhood as of Wondows 7 as of each other even of its own.
For example, Win2016DC is at Windows 7 neighborhood, standalone is not.
Then after pressing of some times of Refresh menu items standalone culd appears, then again disappeared.
The same situation is shown at Window 2016 itselves.
Even Windows 2016 DC is disappeared time tp time from ITS OWN neighborhood.
The same is for standalone.
And stabdalone server may disappear from as DC as from clients after coming to it to look at shared folders and coming back to computers list.

Win2016 is appeared at its neighborhood after Function Discovery Resource Publicationservice restart without Refresh pressing.
Win2016 is appeared at its neighborhood after Function Discovery Resource Publication with Refresh pressing.

Only Wondows 7 is stable at neighborhood.
Windows 2008R2 is stable presented at either itself or clients machines (was tested) .

What is necessary to resolve it or is it issue ?

For the newer OS's enabling network discovery may help.

Check these services are started on all members DNS Client, Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Discovery UPnP Device Host and also check the firewalls allow Network Discovery for the network profile you're using (in my example below using domain).

    Hi ,

Change the following services startup type from Manual to Automatic which allow PC's to be visible on Network. (Reboot)

Push Win Key and type "Services", locate these services.

       - Function Discovery Provider Host
       - Function Discovery Resource Publication
       - SSDP Discovery
       - UPnP Device Host

    Hi, all.
    Thanks to your answers.

I checked again and nothing different.
    That is as was before:

    • DNS Client - is up and Automaic,
    • Function Discovery Provider Host - is up and Automaic,
    • Function Discovery Resource Publication - is up and Automaic,
    • SSDP Discovery - is up and Automaic,
    • UPnP Device Host - is up and Automaic.

Filrewall is off for domain network at the time (for resolving time only) .
Nothing other firewalls are not installed.

No need to turn off fire walls. The firewall rule needs to be in effect on all members. There may be underlying problems with active directory so I'd confirm health is 100%

I suppose that there is some cache of browsing list gto by Network discovery.
And may b Windows 2016 announce itself ether woth little time storage at the cache or with some values what I don' t kow about.

I included Ubuntu server to the network, installed wsdd daemon - daemon (look like as Windows service) acting as WS-Discovery protocol host and protocol publishing which handles requests/answers.
And Ubuntu achien is ALWAYS at neighborhood as at Windows 2016 servers as at Windows 7 clients !!
    Stable and always.

    Only Windows 2016 brings headake.
I tried to changes settings provided by Set-SmbServerConfiguration.
    Nothing changed.

What additional setting are necessary to make to get Windows 2016 appearing stable ?
