Hi,

I want to configure an IMAP account in my outlook. this account has no MFA enable. When i trying to configure IMAP for this account it asks for APP password.

My questions as followed:

  1. Without Enable MFA is this possible to create an app password for an account? [MFA for this account is not possible because this account configured for some system email.]
  2. If app password is not configured why it ask for this password? or if configured, how can I find out [As far I checked it is not possible to generate app password without MFA]
  3. Is there any option to bypass it?

Thanks, in advance.

Microsoft recently announced the deprecation of Basic authentication for several protocols, including IMAP and POP, in Exchange Online. This change is being made to improve customer security. Starting from October 1, 2022, Basic Authentication will be permanently disabled for Outlook, Exchange Web Services (EWS), Remote PowerShell (RPS), POP, IMAP, and Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocols in Exchange Online.
