No login possible because of 2FA activated

Hi, my company has a another ms account and 2FA/MFA is activated for login validation. Unfortunately it is only possible to use MS Authenticator app bacause someone forgot to register any alternative method like SMS or email. Now the device with the connected app is gone and so no login is possible.

I can succesfully reset the password with an email validation but there is at the moment no way to login bcause of 2FA/MFA.

Who in the microsoft universe has to be contacted to reset this. I got the informations about the 2. email address, the paying method and so on ... I just a way to reset the 2FA method.

You'll need a global admin or relevant admin to reset 2FA on that account.

.........If you're really lucky, which i was once, i was able to use a cached login to the main account on another device and add a sms phone number on the account i lost the 2fa app for.

Sounds like you'll need the account admins to reset the account so a new QR code can be generated with which you can relink the authentication device to your account.

Thanks Dave, as you mentioned: I am the admin ;-) So I will see if I can get through this with 365 global customer service. But because of other projects I will try this on Monday and then come back to this answer ... thanks so far
