Hello everyone,
End users have been assigned corporate iPhones controlled with Intune. The Microsoft apps are all controlled with app protection to stop personal data and corporate mixing.
Within the Outlook app, when they select the text and choose translate - the action is blocked. I added the iOS Translate app into Intune and this made no change.
Where could I find the details for that app, to add it as an exception in the app protection policy?

We are seeing the same issue. Apparently, this was working up until a few weeks ago. Not sure if it is a Microsoft issue or something that was self-inflicted.

@Tom Wrigglesworth, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my researching, the translate app is not included in Intune protected app list.

If we configure "Send Org data to other apps" as managed app, the data transfer will be blocked. we can create exceptions to the Intune App Protection Policy (APP) data transfer policy. You can check the documentation provided by the developer of the app to find information about supported URL protocols and add it to transfer exceptions by URL protocol. If the document can't be found, you can contact the app developer to get the information.

We have one setup for all Microsoft apps but can't find the details for the built in iOS Translate app.
@Tom Wrigglesworth, Thanks for the reply. Based on my researching, I only find the URL protocol for Google translate. Please confirm if it is the same app. If not, please contact apple support to get the URL protocol of the built in translate app.

I have spoken with Apple support and they dont understand the requirement as it is within the iOS apps.
Can you advise what this URL would look like or if Microsoft has another translator app that we could use.
Google is not allowed on corporate devices.

For other translate app, as Microsoft does not have a method to manually find the URL protocol for creating app exceptions for third-party applications, I will do researching to see if I can find one with app url on the Internet. And you can also try to contact app developer to see if you can get one with such information.

This is one of the websites we looked at but Google is not used (or allowed) on corporate devices, which is what we are setting up.
I have spoken with Apple support and they do not understand the request. Is it possible to change the default translate tool used by Outlook App?
