SUP Clients Support

I have a single site server with a little over 53 devices. I have multiple MPs to help with the load. But I have single SUP server. My SUP server was a virtual server but it was starting to fall behind just a little. I removed my virtual SUP and brought in a new physical SUP server. I configured WSUS and SUP but this server is worse than my virtual server. I can't get one full sync when my WSUSPool stops responding. I have adjusted the settings is WSUSPool like I have done in the past but nothing seems to work. As soon as I start the WSUSPool CPU utilization spikes up to 100%.

Here's my question. Is there a recommended number of clients per SUP server? I have been looking around but I can't find any information about it. Also, can I have multiple SUP servers assigned to the same boundary group?

    number of clients per SUP is 25000 (last time I checked)
    if you only have 53 clients, i doubt it's that.

    probably, your SUP is suffering from lack of maintenance, too many update products/classifications, lack of tuning etc?

    To avoid the high CPU, the system role of SUP requires the CPU of 4 cores and the memory of 16GB at least. And the detailed information we could refer to:

    Agree with DonPickard, the software update point can support up to 25,000 clients when WSUS runs on the software update point server, and the software update point coexists with another site system role. Here is the article about it:
